At least in this location people won't experience the horrific traffic in Austin trying to get to the track from the airport. The problem with this part of Austin is that it is not in the hill country as Doogs noted above. Hopefully they find a way to make the track more interesting than a flat circuit but I am pessimistic regarding the amount of dirt they can move and still complete the track in less than two years...

I am still in shock that my home town is getting an F1 track!
I don't know why you are getting down ranked for your comment. I completely agree, for $41,000 I could buy a 335i, or an A4, or any number of much more appealing, more drivable, and arguably much better built cars. Yes, I have never sat in the Volt but gauging from GM's attempts at interior quality in the past, I doubt the interior quality will be up to $40,000.
The piece on Senna really was moving, especially the ending. I can't remember seeing Jeremy that humbled in a very long time. As someone who is just becoming addicted to motor sport, watching the piece increased my respect for those older racers by mountains.

The entire episode was pretty good, the star(s) in the reasonably priced car segment was definitely entertaining. Still can't believe Hammond built a DAKAR rally Taureg in the early hours of the morning ;)
In the article it said that the road was an "expressway" and apparently that means pedestrians are allowed on the road, so it is not illegal.

Looks to be an incredible adrenaline rush, however stupid it may be.
@Z

I couldn't agree with you more, I have always been a huge fan of Zagato. Really surprised to see them even THINK about selling a car below $100,000 though - this is great news :)
You must be high on something to think that the SSC Aero cars come anywhere near the Veyron in terms of luxury and ease of use as a daily driver. The Bugatti is simply a stunning accomplishment in every single way. It is a gorgeous car, the technological jumps made to create the car are spectacular, the amount of research that went into precisely making the car are superb, the interior is second to absolutely none (hell, the stereo alone is $30,000). What is the SSC compared to that? A scrappy looking boy racer of a car that comes nowhere near the Veyron in terms of anything but top speed, and now that it is 10mph slower, it really isn't all that close.

No one is playing a fanboy here, the Veyron is just the better car.
Though this may not contribute to any conversation I just wanted to say that I love Goodwood and everything it stands for.

Brilliant photographs as well, I cannot imagine processing that many in such a short amount of time, well done sir!
Easily one of the best looking cars ever manufactured. I cannot begin to even imagine the price someone will pay for this bit of automotive history.
I really hope to see Hyundai release the genesis and higher priced cars into a separate brand, possibly as the "Genesis" brand. I know it sounds stupid, but it would make a large difference for people who have to drive others around for a job, such a real state agents showing clients around. You don't want your clients thinking your car is just another low end hyundai when it is well finished sedan such as the genesis. I know branding is stupid but it exists for a reason...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"My brother is about to leave for the Marines, and I (the geeky brother) want to send something with him to keep him busy. What is a very rugged PMP or similar, with WiFi and a nice UI? A camera is definitely a plus."
