HTC Dragon and friends turn up on Dopod roadmap
The HTC Dragon may not be quite the same mythical beast it once was now that the Nexus One has stolen some of its thunder, but it is still an actual device and, according to a recently leaked Dopod roadmap, it's headed for China in the second quarter of this year. Details are otherwise a bit light, but it is apparently an Android device (as expected) and packs a 3.6-inch WVGA display. Joining it over the course of the year are the 3.4-inch, Android-based A6388, the 4.3-inch Huashan (apparently now a Windows Mobile device -- possibly an HD2 successor?), the 3.2-inch Tianshan, and the considerably smaller Songshan phone, both of which are also Android phones, and should be out in either Q3 or Q4. Still no indication of a release for any of them over here, unfortunately, but something's bound to give with that many HTCphones floating about.

We need a 4.3" Android device.

I thought the nexus one WAS the dragon?
@B3astofthe3ast me too . . .
@B3astofthe3ast No, Nexus One is HTC Passion.
@B3astofthe3ast The HTC Dragon could come with Qualcomm’s 1GHz processor which I think is safe to say would be awesome. But right now, this is just rumor topped with speculation from a few modders with a leak. This is very exciting indeed! I just hope the Dragon will have some great memory and battery specs. Confused about the 4.3-inch Huashan. It clearly says Android on roadmap.
@HerbieDerb
That red text next to Dragon says "Huashan OS change to WM to be confirmed".
I guess they plan on changing it soon.
@HerbieDerb
It says it right under it.
HTC is playing fields, and that is smart in my book. WM7 may turn out better than we expect it to be, for once.
The Huashan sounds like the most exciting one, especially bec they seem to be saving it to go head-to-head with the iPhone 4G/HD....
I expect to see the huashan as the big winMo 7 phone from HTC ready for the iPhone
The Nexus One is the Passion I think...

@xmonkey
yah, but before that, everyone thought the Passion was the Dragon.
I hope it has physical keyboard
@devilfriend
Jeezus effin christ please, yes, a freakin keyboard. Yes! please!!!!
I guess the rumor that HTC is/was helping MS w/ the UI for WM7 is pretty much accurate.
That's alot of mountains HTC need to climb.
*becomes angry over the lack of 4.3 devices* Why is it taking so long, HTC do you not like money? We can spend it somewhere else if you can't seem to provide the handsets
@Hydra
Or maybe they want to make money but it's just that high res 4.3" LCDs/capacitive sensors are somewhat rare. Just a thought...
@Hydra haha, yeah right, I'm sure HTC is quaking in their boots at the threat of consumers walking away from them to spend money on a non-existent 4.3" phone. HTC is the only manufacturer to have one in the market, with another in the pipeline. Who exactly are you going to run to? Archos? LMAO
Is that a Dragon in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
Anyways if HTC is doing it with Sense it will be interesting like the HD2. I would like to see this in the U.S. and if it will just be like an HD2 except with android.
because quality, and features matter? Because, some people rather be on the nice HSDPA network instead of being forced to use EDGE. Or it could be the fact that some people prefer the Sense UI and its features over stock Android.
Why can't HTC just make 1 phone instead of 1million different phones.
Just give us a 4.3 inch snapdragon Android phone and call it a day. I'm tired of this HTC alphabet soup lineup.
@MrX8503 that stupid, not everyone could afford 4.3" phone
@eka Apple only has one phone and its the best selling smartphone.
Good Products, Bad Service.
i really think these mobile manufacturers need to come out with maybe 5 models MAX.
we have been watching this mishmash of phone releases for years now and there are ONLY A FEW that are any good.
why not stick to a few models and improve them EACH YEAR, is that so hard?!?!?!
Must we have 100 android phones with the same form factor? Can we get at least one phone with up to date specs with a physical keyboard?
With Google pulling out of China, I guess they aren't pulling Android out?
@XChrisX They're not pulling out. After seeing that China didn't flinch even after the bad press they got following Googlegate, they've 'quietly resumed' negotiations on cotinuing mainland operations. Dollaz Dollaz.
@aniym Google can't stop the release of Android in China. After they announced their pullout, Motorola said they were still planning on releasing Android phones for China.
