H2O Audio case turns your iPod nano 5G into underwater camcorder
Bank account not mighty enough to handle an underwater EOS 5D Mark II? Fret not, 'cause H2O Audio just made underwater Terminator captures a reality for a comparative pittance. Said outfit has been cranking out waterproof shells for Apple's cash cows for awhile now, but the latest one is of particular interest due to the iPod nano 5G's integrated video recorder. The $79.99 case enables you to capture video clips while under the sea, and considering the multitude of wild and wacky scene modes, we'd say next summer just got a lot more interesting. Just ask that dude up there if you don't believe us.

Wow, they got Hugh Jackman as their spokesman?
@Lord Farkward I was thinking Benjamin Bratt.
Spend a little more over that $80 for a better quality underwater camera that can do video AND stills.
I guess he forgot to mention you can also listen to music underwater.
Do you have some good suggestion for the same price range? My 3 years old P&S + underwater case cost over $400. How often do you do underwater photography anyway?
This is brilliant. Now I don't have to carry round my camcorder. And it can be used under water! Sorry Handycam...
I am going straight out to buy a Nano tomorrow, and this.
You know why?
Because global warming is making the sea rise, Hollywood is going downhill, and I'm a twat who doesn't know how to spend my money sensibly.
@Oli D : i like twat!
Is it just me or does anyone else realize he's fingering the camera?
@AndrAIa that's what i thought at first too "hey, why is some doucher surf guy flipping me off?"
then upon closer inspection i realized he's just portraying he's douche factor. hang loose duuuude!
@cjwild HIS* douche factor
@AndrAIa That's the smallest middle finger I've ever seen
@AndrAIa You mean just like everyone in their commercial?
Does anyone else notice that he's fingering the camera???
@AndrAIa Look closer. That's his pinky finger, not his middle finger. The perspective makes it line up with his middle knuckle, but that's an illusion; he's giving the "bull's horns" or "phone me" or "I'm a ridiculous surfer dude" sign.
Yeah, surely if I venture into underwater recording I'll use something as shitty as an iPod that can't even take still pictures...
Not as good as the iPhone 3GS that went for a dip and showed a video to prove it
I'm more interested in that band he's got around his arm there. I'm certain that it is some kind of technology that allows him to breathe under water. See the cord? Going to the back of his neck? Yeah, you know what that's for.
Wait, how is this news? And who cares?
@Jeff Oh! Oh! !!! And!!!!
No, you're right...
His finger is covering the camera, just like in the Apple commercials.
I love how totally manufactured that image is. Just look at the floor, it's almost as bad as the Iranian rocketshoop.
@microlith - Well the image HAS to be fake, because the person holding the camera has his finger right over the spot where the lens is. Actually, I don't see how anyone can use the Nano's camera given where the lens is (right under where you need to place your finger).
Am I wrong in assuming the only reason cell phones and portable media players all don't have HD cameras is so they don't cannibalize the mini camcorder market?
@anonymouspam
not quite. even if they had hd cams, the quality would be crappy.
Reminds me of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch
I need this just about as much as I need a VGA camera on my ipod.
and 90% of the worlds waters are too dark and murky for the ipod camera to be put to good use.
it might be a nice pool toy though
@Karate Tortoise
Not only do you hate Apple, you hate ...er... swimming, too?
Christ..
@Wesscoast i dont hate apple, thats true about pretty much every cell phone as well. even the ones with a flash will only help so much.
And i love swimming!
Hot guy! rar!

not sure if troll...
Is that a Zune HD he's wearing in that armband?
