MovieWedge beanbag keeps your iPhone upright, costs ten bucks
You know, 2009 is turning into a banner year for pillow-assisted gadgetry. Not only has Philips introduced the CushionSpeaker, but we've just been hepped to a similar idea for the portable media set, an iPhone / Zune / etcetera stand called the MovieWedge. If you've ever wanted to spend $9.95 on a bean bag, now's your chance, kids -- this guy's shaped like a pyramid, constructed out of micro-suede (perfect for wiping your display free of fingerprints) and who knows? It may free you from the tyranny of having to hold your iPhone upright on long plane rides. But one thing it won't free you from? The shame of spending ten bucks on a beanbag. Peep 'er in the gallery below.

I'll take one, SUPERSIZED please!
Me too! I need something to keep me upright during my American National Government class...
I'll just make my own, but it'll be about 3 times bigger.
Im waiting for someone to say:
"Your display picture has made my bean bag 3 times bigger!"
well i was going to say that exact sentence but after you just said it yourself i don't really want to anymore. thanks for ruining it
I doint like reading about bags, scrolling down and see this either. Gives me the impression that Ive misunderstand the News. It was about technique, right?
This should've come standard with an iPhone or touch
I was thinking a few other things should have been standard before this...
I use my hand to hold my iphne, and no problem :(
Two hacky sacks from you high school days would do the same job for less.
I love hacky sacks..I have three & a bean bag,...... bean bags are awesome .. :)
True, but then there's that whole hippy odor you have to deal with.
What, you mean smelling like these two? http://www.koupoukis.gr/wp-content/uploads/HLIC/cache.gawker.com/assets/images/gizmodo/2009/06/1981_raskin_jobs640.jpg
Well the good hacky-sacks usually cost between 5-6 dollars, so its not really cheaper.
Yeah...but i remember hacky sacks (at least the legit ones, like from BC Surf & Sport) were around $11. So, it would really be twice the price
this... is... AWESOME! be good for me to have in class ;)
I'm amazed it took so long for someone to actually produce one of these! Very functional, and way more practical than the iPhone leg strap--that thing looked hilarious.
Looks like a good product. It does one thing and it does it well.

Actually, beanbags also make very versatile substitutes for tripods. I used one frequently on a safari trip to Tanzania. It was impractical to prop a tripod on the land rover floor, but it was easy to rest the camera on the beanbag on the sill of the pop-up top.
They're particularly useful these days when so many otherwise decent digital cameras lack optical viewfinders: It's hard to hold a camera steady at arms-length, while you're looking at a small LCD. And of course the iPhone is vulnerable to that sort of use, and the sensor and lens are already challenged enough, right?
So a beanbag might be a handy thing to have around, for a variety of uses.
Lawl PHPBB Code...
The S shaped stand that comes with some iphone skin/case is a lot more portable, especially the ones that you can hook onto your keyring. Though it'll only work on flat surfaces. This beam bag idea is perfect for your keen, but carrying something that size in the pocket doesn't sound to be extremely comfortable.

But think how pleased everyone will be to think you're just happy to see them. :)
(fell on my keens laughing at that one)
But seriously (ba dum pah) hmmwv, you're right, those little s-shaped stands are very useful and portable.
you kno u dont have to do that quote thing right?
A Beanpod is the ideal solution; www.Beanpods.co.uk
GBP 9.99 or 16.65 USD.
Cheers, Mark (UK).
Or you can simply fill up an old sock with rice and sew it up.
3 things are wrong.
Old sock = unhygenic, full of holes.
Rice = too sophisticated to be in my flat. Try supernoodles or Wok to Walk.
Sew = skill never aquired due to lack of dexterity.
Wow, Oli... I think you need to drop what you're doing and enroll in Life 101.
and for the rest of the day it fills your pocket / briefcase with a pile of useless beans in a sack.
Hit the nail on the head for me. Make an inflatable stand that winds up in this shape and we can talk.
Yea, but useless beans in a sack is probably the norm for many who seem to live on these boards.
fold my own cardboard piece with a pear shaped logo on it.
This is actually a decent accessory.
I just carry around a tack hammer and nails. -Just 5 seconds and you've got a sweet, albeit non-functional, home cinema system on the plane, a broken iPhone and a charge for manslaughter of the man in row 17.
You're trying to be funny, aren't you?
Just hold your damn iPhone.
Cons: can get tiring after 2 hours.
On the other hand, it doesn't scream "I just spent $10 on a small beanbag"
That's true, but then you have the other hand for another 2 hours.
I still think the barf bag holster is the greatest things ever.
Yes!
how come i cant just use the big one i have in my room?
/shrug. I'm just happy with this stand http://www.tikoproducts.com/tiko-fold-overview/
Thanks for the link!
I might actually get one of those....
Odds of iphone falling to the ground within first trip? 9/10
this dudes is better

used it... worked... got a free beer from the flight attendant as kudos!
These comments suck.
Thats what she said.
I have a Seskimo Crabble LOL
http://www.seskimo.com/
I keep it infront of me at work, its awesome!
A poor man's Touch Pro 2 / HTC Tilt implementation...
The n770, n800, n810, & n900 all have built in stands.
Ya, but this costs $10 and is larger than the device it is standing up, and will also probably cause your phone to overheat when you watch a movie on it.
