Acer: Windows 7 coming October 23rd pre-loaded on Z5600 AIO

If all this talk of Windows 7 Release Candidate 1 has thoroughly piqued your interests, here's something to tickle your fancy even more. Acer UK marketing director Bobby Waltkins has told Pocket-Init that the Z5600 all-in-one PC is due out October 23rd along with -- and here's the kicker -- a genuine copy of Windows 7 pre-loaded on the device. That jibes with what Compal's president said back in late February, but it's hard to say for certain from the wording of his response whether he's referring to the OS's wide release or just his company's 7-equipped desktop, although his talk of a 30-day upgrade free upgrade period might be suggesting the former. Until the boys in Redmond call it official, we're just gonna mark our calendars very lightly with a pencil.

you can at least say you got it from giz two hours ago. anywho, this is two damn months after school starts, kind of to late for the thousands of students who buy's laptops and computers for college
But they are still doing the thing where if you buy a computer with Vista after June 30th (I believe) you get a free update to 7 on your corresponding version.
Anyways, sweet!
wow I really wanna get my hands on a copy of Windows 7!
hopefully it will be released by the end of this year
Why wait the RC will be publicly available in 5 days. Use it for free while you can.
I agree that it would be better to shoot for the summer before school starts up, but overall it's better that they wait and make sure everything is the best it can be
No way!! uahuahauha
my sources tell me October 25th. I've said this in previous posts and get laughed at. We will see soon enough, or not soon enough if you like Win7.
HAHA
HAHAHA :) Stop laughing... I'm just trying to help...
October 23rd...October 25th...Not much difference. I'm sure someone can wait two more days if it ends up being 25th.
There are some cool touchscreen features for Windows 7, it makes me wonder if we will see a rise in the popularity of touch sensitivity in computer monitors, it would be nice to see it as standard because its nice being able to just touch the screen to do things, is a lot more convenient sometimes.
not on desktops...but laptops yes.
it does make the screen dirty...but i agree there are certainly times where it is useful, especially over a trackpad
Do Windows releases land on the same day of the week ever? You guys are saying either Friday or Sunday... That seems random.
Vista launched on Tuesday Jan 30th 2007 and XP on Thursday Oct 25th 2001. It doesn't look like they care what day of the week it is.
they sure will provide the buyer with a copy of genuine Windows 7..... Starter Edition
I just want the cost of Windows 7 :(
I'm worried it will be way too much for me to want to upgrade.
That'd be excellent. I'm waiting for Win7 before I get too excited about possibly getting a new computer.
I wouldn't be surprised. I'm sure PC makers are dying to get this on their systems.
Oh please stop torturing us, bring it on ASAP. I desperately need a laptop and it's kinda ridiculous to have Vista on it with 7 just around the corner. :(
That's a fantastic announce, very good.
NIce, hoped they had 200 bucks netbook load with window 7 by then.
